Last Years of Moses and Charity Stilson, family history, part 10.

Much of the family has little to do with the line I follow, so as of now, we leave you knowing how the family faired in the town of New Haven, CT.

Moses the son of Vincent and Mary Stilson, took a wife  March 17, 1704/05.  He had 9 of his own children, and 1 that they adopted.  Of whom or why the adoption is unknown.  They lived most of their lives in New Haven.  Though some early years were in Milford, and he was also noted to be in or around New town, near the end of his life.  Moses died, in 1760 at the ripe age of 84 years.  His wife, Died July 3, 1736. 

His children: 1. Moses (heir to the line i am doing) b. dec. 35, 1705; 2. John b. March 13, 1708 later in life married a gal by the name of hannah.  3. James B. Mar. 3, 1713, and married Joanna Wheeler. 4. David b. 1716 married Rebecca Bailey. 5. Susannah no birth date, but bapt.Aug. 9, 1719, married Timothy Shepard, son of John and Abigail Shepard.  he was a lieutenant in the Revolution, they settled in Newtown, Conn.
6. Johnathan birth date unsure, he did marry but we do not know who, but it seems he had a daughter named Sarah.  7. Mary , birth unknown, said to have married Benajamin Burrit, 8. Anna b. 1721 married Josiah Beardsley in 1745. 9. Sarah birth unknown, married sept 3, 1746 to joseph canfield, son of abiram canfield.  and last 10 Charity, adopted  reasons totally unknown.

Moses Died in 1760 at the age of 84.    Moses life was much easier than his fathers, for he lived in a much larger town.  Indian raids were nearly gone, and alot settled as well.

When they first moved to new haven, aka new town.  Moses started the garden, which he and his wife tended after words.  This being mostly the food, that kept the family during the harsh winters.
   Though he also worked fixing things for others, clamming and even helping around the town hall.
Well moses was always up early out tending the animals, garden or what might need be done. His wife also was up early.  Fixing breakfast for the family before they all headed off to schooling, or chores.

As she heads into the kitchen to make the family's morning meal, she shows us that shes pregnate with yet another child.  She is more happy here, and less fearful of the terrible deeds done to so many before they moved.  She enjoys the new town, and has many friends.  Which she visits weekly to take baked breads.

No one was idle, Susanna helped with the children, and watched over them.  It was her job, to make sure they got their needs filled, and other than school.  She helped also around the home, cleaning, even learning to cook.
   This day was special for Moses, city council wanted him to get signitures, for a petition to go through that would allow for the inventing of new things. 

As moses makes his rounds around town, running into rif raff, and rich alike, talking of the councils wills and the makeings of new things to come.  He found many that agreed, and some that feared.  Still he got the signitures, that long day, of walking the streets.
    Now weather Charity really wrote or not, she does in the sims, As she was commissioned to write a biography of Agnus Stilson, a sister of Moses, who was married to quite the business man.

Though we all well know that back in the early 1700's there was no type writers, or computers, but all writing done by hand, could also be printed through hand printing at the news paper offices.  Though it was a long and not so easy time, she managed to get this book written before the baby was born.

Now during this time Moses realizes his daughter is growing up, and worries a bit about the type of men she might meet.

though not the greatest of minds, this young lad, always made sure susanna made it home.  He even asked her to the Dance for the prom.  to which her father said that she could go, but only under supervision.

Its a birth day, like many before and many after.  But this one is our heir.  Moses Jr.

As he grabs birthday cake, that took his mom nearly a whole day to cook in the old oven, he was pleased to know that now he could also help around the home.  Go to school, and be a more active part of the family.

The whole family sits to eat cake, minus the little ones upstairs.  Talking of books, and writing, biographys, pets, and much more.  Moses tells of how he got the signitures for the town council, and how much he saw that was from rags to riches.  How he saw some dressed in hardly anything at all but a rag, and yet those near the college, dressed well, and talked well.  They finished their cake, then it was off to bed for all.  For more early mornings and early nights to come.

It seems like hardly any time at all, Charity goes into labor with her 4th child.  Both parents hopeing for another son, for sons it was much easier to live than for daughters.

David is born, and loved by all around him.  Family gathering to see the baby, and mom so proud.

Moses did alot like i mention'd he worked on items for others fixing them up.  Here he returns an item, he fixed to vita.

Vita of course is pleased that the item now works, and was returned, paying nicely for the work done.

Though hardly any of the family is burried in the same places, or even the same cemetary.  Here in the sims, they are together.  The family plots was something to show, With vincent, 1st wife, (2nd still alive) a baby daughter who died at birth, their dog, and horse.  lol, i know crazy huh. 

Time seems to fly by, as David is now a toddler.  2 brothers so close in age, nearly twins, but not.  Play as toddlers do, getting into things, and screaming over who owns, what.

With babies being born, toddlers growing, and family working hard.  Moses Jr. finds it easy to sneak off and get a bit of fishing in.  He loves to fish, and loves to go early in the morning to catch the big ones. 

Though time sometimes goes by fast and sometimes slow, we find that susanna really likes animals, she even went so far as to adopt a old cat.  Feeling sorry for it, she takes it in, telling her parents that the cat just needs a little love.

As the years went by Moses continued to make the garden great.  Having alot in it, but still wishing it was bigger, he weeds and cultivates the garden with the love of any gardner.

All to soon, in Moses way of thinking it was prom night.  Something new the schools did here, dances for special dates.  He allows his daughter the privilege of going, since he will be one of the prom attendants, to make sure all is in best behavior. 
  We see that Susanna is now ready for the prom:

and waiting patiently for her date to appear.  Knowing that her father would be driving them there in the buggy, was all but fine with her.  She wanted a little time alone, but knew it was not propper.
  Her date finally shows up:  and hes not really dressed as he should be, but she doesn't care.

Though her father scoffed at the apparell this young man wore. He still took them to the prom.  Where she became prom queen, and fell in love with the boy who took her.
  Ahaman asks her to be his steady, she of course excitedly said, YES.  Though her father across the room frowned, she was happy to do something that he had no true say in.  Or so she thought.
  We learn Charity is prenate with her 5th child.  But for all purposes and lengthyness of huge families.  We are not writing more than what is said above of the children born to Moses and Charity Stilson, 2nd generation of Stilson's in america. 
   During the times of 1717 and to late 1700's many came to america as indentured servants, this marking the beginning of slavery in america.  For indentured servants were generally singles, sometimes more, brought to the colonies, with their expenses paid, by another.  Then when they got here, they were slaves to the one that paid their way, till their debt was paid in full, now the debt would not only be passage over, but food, sleeping quarters, clothing, etc.  used well here as well.  This takeing sometimes several years to finally be free of the moneys owed to the one that paid their way here.  in 1716 it was also the time the 1st black slaves were brought to the louisianna territory.  Further south, but still very apparent in what was to come.  Some argueing against and some argueing for.

This is the end of generation 2, though when moses jr. comes back with his part of the family, it will show his stages of growth and the eras, of time that he went through.
